The sad thing is, I remember thinking pretty much the same thing when I was about Bridgette's age, only it was a book with a picture of a kid reading a book, and so on. ;)
I love that there's so much attention paid to even the throwaway conversations the kids have with each other. There was something Ariel did to Bridgette once (maybe telling her really fast how to spell something and then getting frustrated when Bridgette couldn't keep up?) and I remember thinking, "I have had that EXACT SAME CONVERSATION with my sister!"
