Friday, Oct. 2 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network - "Who's That Girl" - When Ariel begins acting erratically, Allison becomes troubled and suspects that her daughter might be possessed with the spirit of a murdered stripper who is seeking revenge on her killer, on MEDIUM.

Wow. Just... absolute wow. Tonight's episode was superb in every way imaginable. Greating acting, great writing, direction. Everything. The opening monolouge describing the then most unsuspecting people, who came from loving families (I suppose), who turned out to be the worst monsters imaginatable and thensome, was really chilling and altogther misleading. I would've never guessed the "Jeffrey" Allison was refrering to would end up being the notorious cannibal, Jeffrey Dahmer (shudders).

In retrospect, while the monolouge/montage gets its message of the "unexpected" across, it kinda felt, in a way, too strong for this episode, especially since a possessed Ariel never really gets to do anything to such an extreme (but that's what procrastination gets you :P). For some reason I expected a little more from Allison's dream, in which a bloodied Ariel sits on the edge of the table waiting for her father come inside to greet her. Butchered bodies, maybe, but I've been watching too much Supernatural as of late, so I got kinda grumpy/relieved when they didn't show what happened next. Joe's reaction was priceless, though :D.

Although kind of insignificant, the issue of Bridgette's snoring being brought up by a grumpy little Marie, requesting for her own bedroom, made me smile, while Bridgete and Ariel's back and forth continues to get better with their ages. (Meanwhile my sister made some random comment behind me about how Joe sounded like he had a cold when he was talking). Ariel's asking whether or not she could go on the scavenger hunt with a bunch of seniors made me worry that half the episode was going to be a repeat of Season 5's "All in the Family", especially after Allison request that her daughter give her and Joe to think about it.

The most off-base, and hillarious moment of the episode goes to Allison arriving at work and being greeted with a show and dance by a recently deceased stripper, to the tune of Poison's She's My Cherry Pie. It was even more "WTF?"-ish than when I saw it on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (and you only really got to see a less than a second of the routine). Does anyone notice the somewhat alarming rate of how many Manuel's friends and aquaintces seem to die? This time it was daughter of a friend, I can't imagine how this man copes (stupid thing to say, I know).

Another thing I seemed to notice, that the possession as of late, seems to be taking place in or around Allison's station wagon, instead of the bed. Ariel, in this case, managed to be in something of a more comfortable position as opposed to Allison just falling against the vehicle in "About last Night"; Bridgette's ambitious tongue seemed to be getting smarter by the minute in this episode, especially when faced with a bewildered version of her sister; I love how Ariel just quiets her right up with the threat of tattling about how much she's beene ating from the bag of goddies. Which brings me the best part of this episode; while you the viewer know that Ariel's been taken over, the late Elena, who seems to stumbles in the skin of Allison's daughter's skin, adapts Ariel's behavior so well, that for a time she left me confused as to who was who.

I contemplated long and hard as to whether or not Elena was shifting gears in Ariel's head, allowing the girl to surface to maintain some sembelance of control (especially when Allison decides to freak out on her), or if she was that damn good of an actor. More to the point, I kinda feared the possessed girl would pit the parents against each other, as Joe seemed to be buying the facde of "innocence", particularly after Elena!Ariel corrects him on when her birthday was.

One could always sum that up to typical "Parental Denial", though. Even Joe knows how the whole possessed gig goes, he's been through it enough times with Allison. What really helped with, I think, was that there was alot in this episode that wasn't shown. I really wondered how Allison was going to get anyone to believe her about Ariel. Sufficed to say, Sofia's acting in this episode was epic. She truly became someone else in her performance, really brought out the steely vengance of that character, especially when Elena was confronted with the possibility that she (and extension, Ariel) would be going to jail for the rest of their lives. The only thing that confused was that little moment between her and the distraught Allison, who kept blocking her until she got a hug. Did she feel remorse for sending Ariel to an unwarranted life in prison, or was it that comment Allison made about Elena's mother and the vigil at the church that cracked her, causing her to release Ariel from her hold?

Color me surprised by the end, though. Everybody was freakin' in on what was going on except me! I must've blinked four times when I heard Joe ask "Did it work? It seemed to have worked" (all while oogling at him those jeans. RAWR!) I totally figured Allsion was flying solo with that plan of hers.

Other things I liked about this episode was the music played when Allison was tailing her daughter to her friend's house (not to mention that the girl happens to be the daughter of the SOB that killed Elena after she got too convincing with her "jokes"). Ugh, why doesn't this show have soundtrack already?

Next's week episode looks interesting. I still have the hardest time getting used to seeing Oded Fehr with all that gray hair, however. My Permamant image of him is the Medjai, Ardeth Bay, with the lushious hair from The Mummy (1991). I absolutely hated that buzz cut in his later career.
