I recently started reading the real Allison Dubois' book, Don't Kiss Them Goodbye...which is kind of so-so, as far as a book, but what really caught my attention was the ages of the real Dubois girls. In reality, it seems, Ariel, Bridgett and Marie are much closer; I think there's only five years between Ariel and Marie, whereas on the show it's something like 10 years. Anyone know why they chose to do that? I suppose it was to make more room for different plots, ie Ariel's junior high woes and Marie's toddler issues, with Bridgett tackling the middle years...but it just seemed odd they didn't just stick to their real age order.

Oh, well...creative license, right? I'll have to keep reading to see what else they changed for the show.
