TONIGHT 10/9c - "A Necessary Evil" - Allison is visited once more by the ghost of Agent Cooper. Guest starring Kurtwood Smith. (TV-14 V)

Arg, sorry about the lack of words. I hit the "Enter" Button and it submitted my Post before I actually start writing *smacks Keyboard*. I hate this computer sometimes.

---------------

Another Fantastic Episode; By far one of Patricia's best performances of the season (so far)... Again. It was equally as unsettling as the previous episode, if not moreso. I loved how it paid equal attention to both Joe and Allison's storyline. Perfectly steamlined.

Kurtwood Smith's Agent Cooper is truly a deviant man, even in death. And what makes it worse is that he really believes that what he's doing is the right thing do to, that are no other options left to him (he's not too bright for a spirit with a view of the world). He's got a Minority Report-complex so to speak. I think he actually might be worse than ["The Butcher"] Dr. Charles Walker; He actually found someone with a gift akin to Allison's (Brandon) and manipulated him to think that if he didn't kill those people then they would actually go on to murder and take innocent lives. Makes me wonder why Dr. Walker never tried this approach (even though, if I remember correctly, Copper kinda happened upon Brandon)?

I sympathized with Allison's frustration and confusion with her dreams about the "Sucide" victims when nothing came to pass. It was rather nice to see Lee and Manuel back to true skeptical form with concerns toward the new information revealed by Allison's dreams. The two sequences in which Allison confronts the twisted Brandon boy were incredibly moving; The way she tried to convince him to turn himself in to the authorites (or at least the D.A.), that Cooper was wrong to be using him, and that nothing in the future was set in stone by using herself and what happened to the woman's husband as an example were so intense. I immediately thought of Joe Day Afternoon when that boy took his life in front of Allison, even though the two incidents are totally unrelated. (Watching Allison break up over his death was a tear-jerker. Thank Goodness for Joe.)

Highly ironic it was to see that boy standing in the hallway with utterly defeated Agent Cooper (ha-ha), shocked by what he'd done to himself, like he wasn't sure he actually pulled the trigger and killed himself. ...Wonder where he'll end up now? :P

Despite being straightforward, Joe's problem with the highly unlikable and supposedly "genius" Mr. Hal whathisname, was interesting. At first glance, I thought the guy Ariel was being hasseled by in her sleep, was lying about Mr. Hal because he had something against him (Not that I could blame the unseen dead man; His lack of social skills and unpleasant demeanor were off-putting.). I wondered if Joe's Boss was going to fire him when he asked if he knew about his wife and revealed he got the information about Hal from Ariel. Right after Joe called Hal out on a few things about getting his ideal up and running and the guy announced that he needed to be "at home" to be at his best, I knew that dude was a fraud. The sucky part is that we never get to see Joe fire him, but at least the Unseen dead man (I forget his name), wih the help of a very sleep Ariel, solved the problem for Joe.

Overall, great episode. Can't wait for next week.
