The cancellation of Mr. Grammer's show probably comes to no surprise to alot of folk, but, what I did find surprising, was that, apparently, prior to his interview where he says MEDIUM's move to CBS was an advantageous one, procuder Kelsey Grammer was pissed that CBS moved the series from NBC to their station. At least according to Variety.com:
ABC’s “Hank” has been yanked.
The weakest link of the Alphabet’s Wednesday night comedy lineup, show wasn’t expected to get a full season pickup -- something ABC finally confirmed on Wednesday morning. “Hank” had already been pre-empted in recent weeks for specials -- including this week, as the net’s entire night was bumped for the CMA Awards.
Now that becomes permanent, as ABC will air a mix of comedy repeats and holiday specials in “Hank’s” 8 p.m. slot for the time being. ABC had already picked up full seasons of its other Wednesday laffers -- “The Middle,” “Modern Family” and “Cougar Town.” Cancellation comes soon after ABC also opted not to give new Wednesday night drama “Eastwick” a back nine order either.
“Hank” dump makes it two disappointments in a row for star Kelsey Grammer, who wasn’t shy with blasting Fox after that network dumped his last sitcom, “Back to You.” Grammer even blamed his heart problems on Fox’s decision to drop that show.
Grammer also made news this summer when he trashed CBS for being disingenuous in stealing away “Medium,” which he exec produces. It remains to be seen whether he’ll hold ABC in similar contempt.
Five episodes of “Hank” remain in the can; it’s unclear whether those shows will see the light of day. Insiders noted that the writing was on the wall for the show when ABC opted to air the show’s Thanksgiving episode early, last week. “Hank,” from Warner Bros. TV, starred Grammer as an executive who is sacked in a downsizing -- and forced to spend more time with his family.

...Grammer also took potshots at Leslie Moonves, president and chief executive of CBS Corp. Grammer produces "Medium," which aired on NBC for five years and was canceled this season, but will now air on CBS.
Grammer sarcastically referred to him as a "selfless, ego-less man" and "disingenuous." Grammer seemed upset that Moonves originally passed on "Medium" "and then spent the next few years trying to make the same show." (He was referring to "Ghost Whisperer.")

Date: 2009-11-12 02:46 am (UTC)Mr. Grammer should shut up. His show is on the air. Viewers seem to be loving it and supporting it, no matter where it's airing. And Jay Leno seems to be tanking. Isn't that the best ending a canceled show could ask for?
