[Via MediumDreams]: New York Magazine recently interviewed comedian/actress Janeane Garafaolo about subjects including fashion, Botox, and her career. As a 45-year-old woman, Garofalo talks about how difficult it is to get a job in Hollywood unless you conform to certain physical standards. She also talks about what her ideal acting jobs would be, and one of the answers is pretty interesting.
In addition to saying that she’d love to be a part of 30 Rock, Garofalo also says that she loves Medium. My only question is, can we please make this happen? Allison DuBois needs a friend. She needs a real friend– one who will stick around for more than a couple of episodes and hasn’t killed anyone, nor will she be killed. Just a normal friend who she could have coffee with sometimes, and who better to do that than Garofalo, who made a career playing “the friend” in such films as The Truth About Cats and Dogs.
Garofalo’s smart, sassy, and direct. While Allison can be pretty straightforward with dead people and murderers, she’s still pretty timid in her day-to-day life. She needs someone to get her out of her shell, and Garofalo would be just the person to do it.
While the dynamic between Joe and Allison is one of the best parts of the show, I’m all for Allison having someone else to bounce ideas off of. If Joe can go drink beer and play video games with his boss, why can’t Allison go have drinks and bounce ideas off of someone too? Let’s make this happen, people.
