So I'll admit, I just got into Medium a couple of months ago, therefore I've only been able to catch up watching re-runs and what not. I thought I was pretty good about watching the Friday night re-runs, but I think I missed one two weeks ago (at least I'm assuming my question was answered in that episode).

In this past Friday's episode "Who's That Girl" (Season 6, Episode 2), Allison has a cane and for most of the episode is holding her (right?) arm to her chest, almost as if she had had a stroke. I was just curious if any of this was explained in a previous episode. (Essentially, my question is: What happened?)

In the S5 finale "Bring me the head of Oswaldo Castillo", Allison was told she had a brain tumor growing on or against her brain stem and that if she didn't get it operated on right away, it would cause severe and/or lasting damage. She kept dreaming that a drug lord, named Oswaldo Castillo, kills her family some time in the near future (and she is unable to bring him to justice the old fashion way because the surgery she gets somehow canceled out her ability to dream) because of her involvement in the case to arrest him. In order to prevent this, she escapes the hospital, posponing her surgery, and completes the dream which reveals how Castillo was evading the police (he had a friend on the inside, a man who was working with Allison & co. on the case). Afterward, Castillo and his friend are arrested, but Allison suffers a stroke and falls into a coma shortly thereafter (during the surgery to remove the tumor, which is successful).

In the 1st episode of S6, it's revealed that Allison's right arm is paralyzed, she hasn't had any dreams since waking up (but that obviously doesn't last for long) and that'll take some time for her to regain full use of her body. Did that help?
