Normally, Allison dreams of specific people who need her help, right? Even if she doesn't actually know them, she ends up bumping into them somewhere or otherwise figuring it out. But in this episode, she dreamt Marie would get cancer, when it wasn't Marie at all but other people's kids...is that correct? The way I understood it, it was symbolizing other people who would end up standing around helplessly as their kids succumbed to leukemia in the future.

But I'm still not really seeing why they would've picked Marie, instead of someone else. When Allison still wasn't entirely sure about whether it would really happen or not, the chewing of Marie's teddy bear by the German shepherd made her think it would. That was a pretty personal thing, regarding Marie specifically, and not someone else's kid.

On the other hand, if it really WERE Marie who would've gotten sick, had they moved there, that doesn't really make sense to me, either. Because the family had no intention of moving, and wouldn't even have considered it, had Allison not dreamt that Marie was in danger.

I love this show, but sometimes some of the stories' logic just goes over my head! LOL

Yeah, I see what you mean. Kinda pointless to warn Allison "Don't move into that house!" if she had no intention of moving in the first place.

My guess is that the dreams were supposed to make Allison understand that the water supply for Willow Elms was poisoned, and to uncover that truth, she would have to point detective Scanlon into the right direction in order to solve Gary's murder, and to arrest the realtor for knowingly selling homes that weren't safe. The dreams involving Marie getting sick because of her doctor and the "house" were simply a calling to Allison to protect other families like her own.

Hope that helps. ♥

I think what the previous poster said was closer to the point of the plot. Since it was connected to Scanlon’s case, the significance of finding the perpetrator connects them with the realtor. And because it was supposedly a lab experiment, the doctor in the future was the ‘key’ to putting away the murderer.

The other part, which was about Marie and leukemia, was similar to the way Allison emotionally connects to people. So that’s more or less icing on the cake. It's almost like the episode where her supposedly first born was alive in her dream, finding out that it only brought her emotionally close to the boy, proving his innocence and to see why the mother did what she did.

Sorry, had to edit & re-post, because I forgot to mention that it's ironic that they chose the name "willow elm' or something like that for a neighbourhood: A species of willow trees actually helps heal leukemia victims. Interesting imo.
