It's hard to believe that we're so far into the season that reruns and alternative programming are already dominating the schedule. As we head into the last week of new episodes (in which there are only a few), I'm sure you're all anxious to find out when your favorite dramas are set to return.

Usually we don't see TV dramas return until late January (the networks save those episodes for February sweeps), so I was thrilled to learn that most of the major shows are set to come back in the first two weeks of the month. The Tuesday night CBS lineup that includes NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and The Good Wife will return on January 5. Nip/Tuck begins their final season on January 6. The CBS Friday night lineup that includes Ghost Whisperer, Medium and Numb3rs heads back into our living rooms on January 8.

Several shows including Glee, Fringe, FlashForward and Gossip Girl won't be returning to the schedule until March/April.

No one does high concept better than CBS' Medium, and the show comes up with another fun one tonight. Over Halloween, the psychic series took on the zombie flick Night of the Living Dead. Tonight, it's John Carpenter's sci-fi classic They Live. And while we won't see any aliens invading or star Roddy Rowdy Piper, the inspiration is there thanks to a special pair of sunglasses.

Imagine looking at someone and knowing exactly how long they have to live ... to the day. Even for someone with psychic abilities, like Medium's Allison Dubois, that kind of information is difficult to deal with. Especially when the number of someone you care about is about to be up. (Big spoilers ahead!)

Friday, Nov. 20 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) - "The Future's So Bright" - When Allison develops a strange sensitivity to light, the sunglasses she wears reveal mysterious numbers which could tie into people's life expectancies. Also, Allison's dream about Joe's dad causes Joe to start taking better care of his health, on MEDIUM, on the CBS Television Network.

A boring Friday before Labor Day, but at least the Medium repeat was in its new time slot and we’re only three weeks away from reporting on Dollhouse’s season premiere!

A night of split leadership as CBS won the adults 18-49 demographic and a Dateline-fueled NBC won the most viewers. CBS won the night with adults 18-49, in an all rerun-filled night (that will at least mirror its fall schedule) with Ghost Whisperer’s 1.3/5 (rating/share) with adults 18-49 and 5.05 million viewers, Medium (1.3/5, 5.11) and Numb3rs (1.2/4, 5.1M). It’s very risky to make predictions based on viewing of repeats, but if you ignore such precautions and do it anyway, it looks like Ghost Whisperer and Medium go together like peas and carrots.

NBC is protesting CBS' move to start running repeats of "Medium" this summer. Peacock canceled the show in May, but per standard series licensing deals, still has exclusive primetime rights to the show until September, when the new season begins.

That's why it was unusual to see episodes of "Medium" creep onto the Eye early. Segs that originally ran on NBC this year are currently running Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on CBS. Eye execs likely believe they have the ability to start airing the show now that NBC has canceled it.

Insiders said NBC is demanding that the Eye reimburse it for the right to air those episodes. Both sides aren't commenting on the rift. The summer tussle is just the latest surrounding "Medium," which CBS will officially start airing on Friday nights this fall. Peacock had offered a 13-episode pickup for "Medium," but CBS TV Studios was looking for a full-season order.

When NBC wouldn't budge, the Eye moved the show to its own network. NBC, meanwhile, pointed to the show's low ratings in cutting it loose -- and CBS TV Studios shot back by sending out a press release denouncing the Peacock's move as "inexplicable."

Alrighty, then: Here are a List of Tags for the Community to use should they post any new information or fandom related material as the Falls rolls towards us. Please, Please, remember to use them. It would be an absolute waste if you didn't after all the hard work I went through to create these things. Also, be on the look out for a possible change in layout (from S1 to S2).

Medium is all new on Monday. Yee haw.. No waiting a few more weeks for a new episode like some networks do!

Does someone know the exact date the new season begins?
[identity profile] taughtjohnuh.livejournal.com
I know it's been announced, and I seriously can't wait anymore. When's Season two going to start? In the fall, or in January? What do you think will happen to what's his face? Why can't I remember his name.. omg.. the Texan Cop guy. LOL.

Postponed again? I haven't been checking the local listings. I noticed that the pageant was on, so when does Medium come back? Grr, who cares about Miss America anyways?

Anyone know if this show got canceled? Or is it just on hiatus?
